Chemin de Fer Lessons
Blackjack is possibly one of the most favored games participated in, in betting houses. Black jack is also referred to as 21 or Chemin de Fer. The game is a mix of luck and skills combined with decision-making. The game has changed over a set amount of time. Players have specialized in specific abilities like "card counting," with which they turn the edge in the game in their direction. The card game has been in existence since the 1700s. References can be located in historical documents to a card game referred to as "vingt-et-un," which in French means Twenty One, and is considered the ancestor to blackjack.
The card game was at first not so popular in the US. This caused the casinos attempting various features like providing a reward in case of a 10-to-1 pay out, if the blackjack player got an ace of spades and a black jack. The jack could be either the jack of spades or clubs. After the game became well-known, the reward pay out soon disappeared from the game.
Any hand which achieves a total of twenty-one is deemed a winner. The value should not exceed 21, in which case the hand is said to be "bust." The goal of each player is to defeat the dealer. If both the player and the dealer have the same score, it is referred to as a "push," with neither the black jack player nor the house winning the hand.
